Introduction


The UPDM plugin for MagicDraw UML/SysML modeling solution fully supports building integrated enterprise architectures meeting DoDAF, MODAF, and NAF requirements ensuring mission critical project success. The plugin supports all DoDAF 1.5, DoDAF 2.0, MODAF 1.2, and NAF v.3 viewpoints and views dependent on the selected user environment. Each user environment provides architecture framework specific concepts, artifacts, new project templates, samples, and architecture framework specific usability features. A user environment can be changed any time by fully converting model to meet requirements of the selected architecture framework.

NOTE: The UPDM 2 plugin is available in MagicDraw Standard and higher editions for an additional fee.

    

Installation

IMPORTANT! Compatible SysML plugin and SoaML profile need to be installed. For the information about what UPDM 2 plugin versions are compatible with what SysML plugin and SoaML profile versions, go to http://www.nomagic.com/products/magicdraw-addons/updm-plugin.html

All operating systems

  1. In the MagicDraw main menu, select Help > Resource/Plugin Manager.
  2. Check for available updates and new resources.
    (NOTE: Specify HTTP Proxy Settings for the connection to start MagicDraw updates and resources).
  3. Select the check box near the UPDM 2 plugin and click Download/Install.
  4. Restart MagicDraw.

If you already have UPDM_2_Plugin_<version number>.zip downloaded:

  1. From the MagicDraw main menu, select Help > Resource/Plugin Manager.
  2. Click the Import button to specify the UPDM_2_Plugin_<version number>.zip file location.The plugin will be extracted and installed automatically.
  3. Restart MagicDraw.

To apply UPDM_2_Plugin_<version number>.zip manually:

  1. Download UPDM_2_Plugin_<version number>.zip.
  2. Quit MagicDraw.
  3. Extract the downloaded file to the same directory wherein MagicDraw is installed.
    NOTE: If you use Mac OS X, use the command-line prompt to go to the MagicDraw folder and extract the UPDM_2_Plugin_<version number>.zip file there.
  4. Start MagicDraw.

Evaluation version limitations


Top

If MagicDraw client has no expiration date, plugin evaluation version will be working for 7 days period after first installation.
If MagicDraw client has an expiration date, plugin evaluation version will be working until MagicDraw client version is expired.

IMPORTANT! Remember that plugin evaluation version depends on MagicDraw version. If you have MagicDraw demo version then you are allowed to save limited number of elements.

Contact your sales executive individually for the fully functional evaluation version.
